The Eurodoc Annual General Meeting took place on 26–27 June 2026 at Semmelweis University in Budapest, hosted by the Hungarian member organisation, DOSZ, bringing together delegates from Eurodoc's national associations from across Europe for two days of decisions, elections, and discussion.
This year's AGM welcomed three new member organisations: PhD & PostDoc Society (P&PS) from Belgium, Unione Accademica Sammarinese (UAS) from San Marino, and Österreichische Hochschüler_innenschaft (ÖH) from Austria. We are very pleased to have them on board. Eurodoc now counts 31 national associations from 26 European countries.
The AGM reviewed and approved the Annual Report and Financial Report for 2025/2026. The Employment Policy was also adopted, setting out a clear framework for Eurodoc's working relationships with collaborators. Two substantive policy documents were approved: a Statement on Doctoral Co-Supervision, and a Report on the Financial Conditions of Doctoral Candidates and Cost of Living. Developing and advocating for positions on the conditions and rights of early-career researchers is one of Eurodoc's core tasks, and both documents reflect that commitment.
The annual goals for 2026/2027 reaffirm Eurodoc's engagement in key European policy processes — including the ERA Act, the European Higher Education Area, and the Council of Europe frameworks — while also setting priorities around the financial sustainability and governance of the organisation, strengthening communication with and between national associations, expanding EU-funded project work, and marking Eurodoc's upcoming 25th anniversary. In the year 2026/2027 Eurodoc will maintain six working groups: Mental Health; Doctoral Training; Labour and Financial Conditions of Doctoral Candidates; International Mobility and Responsible Internationalisation; AI, Open Science and Research Assessment; and Equitable Opportunities and Sustainable Research Cultures. All are open to any early-career researcher from Europe to join and exchange knowledge.
The AGM elected the full Eurodoc administration for 2026/2027.
The new Administrative Board includes Norbert Bencze as President (DOSZ, Hungary), Karl Kilbo Edlund as Vice President (SNPA, Sweden), Manca Lunder as Treasurer (MA, Slovenia), Costanza Marini as Secretary (ADI, Italy), and Magali Weissgerber (Thesis / ANDès), Triin Sellis (DOK, Estonia), Linnéa Carlsson (SFS-DK, Sweden) as General Board Members.
Beyond the board, the AGM also elected the secretariat coordinator and external communications coordinator, the working group co-coordinators for all six working groups, the four-person communication team (webmaster, newsletter officer, and French and English language officers), two auditors, and the advisory board members.
Congratulations to everyone elected, and a warm thank you to the outgoing board for their work and commitment throughout the 2025/2026 mandate.
Based on a decision taken earlier, the Eurodoc Conference and AGM 2027 will be organised in Oslo, hosted by SiN (Stipendiatorganisasjonen i Norge). We look forward to welcoming the community there next year.
