Equitable Opportunities and Sustainable Research Cultures Working Group

Equitable Opportunities and Sustainable Research Cultures Working Group

The working group currently has no working group coordinator.

General goals of the WG:
In the years 2019 -2024 Eurodoc has published more than 10 articles written by various members of working groups and the Eurodoc administration on topics related to equitable opportunities. However, Eurodoc has never collected these opinions into a policy document. Thus the focus of the working group in 2024/2025 is to

  • to draft a policy document that addresses different challenges that must be addressed in order to strengthen equitable opportunities in academia;
  • provide a space for knowledge exchange on what constitutes sustainable research cultures and how to create environments where researchers can thrive in their personal and professional lives;
  • to discuss how Eurodoc best can address the intersectional nature of the question.

Any ECR should consider joining the WG Equitable opportunities if they are interested in contributing to creating a more equitable academia. Participation in the does not entail any obligation to participate in meetings or to perform any work between meetings.

How to sign up for the WG mailing lists

Each working group has an email list. Here, the working groups can keep in touch between meetings, such as calling for meetings and sharing information of interest to its members.

Eurodoc has 6 working groups that are open for all Early career researchers and doctoral candidates affiliated with one or more of the members (national associations) of Eurodoc to join. In some cases, it is even possible for others to join these working groups.
