…which means that we have been working on improving the conditions of early career researchers in Europe for over two (!) decades now! And with every year, we have acquired more rights and additional responsibilities, which confirms that we are on the right track to effect positive change in science and education.
Through the years, we have contributed to improvements in the quality of doctoral programs, in research, and in publication activities; we have advocated for equal rights and diversity and promoted cooperation between national associations; we have stood up for the rights of early career researchers with the goal to ensure decent working conditions for them and have engaged with major stakeholders in research and innovation including, for the last year, supporting Ukrainian scientists affected by war. And this is exactly the work we will continue to be committed to in this next decade of Eurodoc’s existence!
Step by step, we are changing the world of science for the better and in the process have ourselves grown and matured and found our place in the world of associations in higher education and research in Europe.
But entering our third decade we can also say: We know what must be improved, we know how to do it, now we need everyone in higher education to do the work with us for a better research and education environment!
Thank you to all the delegates who have come before, so we can continue doing this work!
